Fluorocarbon Leaders and Quickstrike Rigs
In an effort to improve my catch ratio, I’ve made some fluorocarbon leaders and quickstrike rigs. The bite has been particularly finicky lately, and applying a little stealth to the pursuit of those big Northerns might be wise. I used 80 lb Berkley Trilene “Big Game” leader material. This...

Kennedy Says Alberta’s Fish Inedible
Holy smokes! You’ve got to be kidding me: Kennedy says Albertas fish inedible. I’ve read some pretty silly things in my thirty-six years on this plant, and this may very well take the cake. Yes, it is even more ludicrous than alien abductors who perform high-tech sodomy in the name of...

Happy New Year 2010!
Wow! I can’t believe it. It seems like just yesterday that we were saying “good bye” to the 1900s, and now it is 2010. It has been a few days since I dropped in. The holidays keep us very busy around here. It was a very “fishy” Christmas, with most of the gifts that were dolled [...]

Almost Healed
After four physiotherapy appointments my elbow has improved considerably. It isn’t 100% yet, but it is doing well enough that it is unnecessary to attend any more appointments: unless the condition of it deteriorates again. The treatment plan did not vary from that set out earlier...

Quote of the Week
Enjoy thy stream, O harmless fish; And when an angler for his dish, Through gluttony’s vile sin, Attempts, the wretch, to pull thee out, God give thee strength, O gentle trout, To pull the rascal in! John Wolcot
