As I'm sure we all know by now, thanks to our friends at Gawker, Overheard in New York has either lost or fired its editor Michael Malice, who has gone on to start the virtually indistinguishable New York Overheard (except for all that missing archival content). Rumors abound as to reasons for the split, but it is nonetheless a split as acrimonious and permanent as the Hatfields and the McCoys. Malice begins Overheard at College as soon as he can line up tech support, apparently.

In other blogginews, of course, cannibals blog too. Does this mean we should add a new category - and if so, should it go under "Personal Blogs" or "Society Blogs"?
