3D printers have become outstanding achievements in recent technology and what makes the students of the AAB College stand out is the fact that as a group of the Computer Science Faculty, they have now designed one of the finest such printers in the region.
This is the first time that students in Kosovo have accomplished such a high achievement – the creation of a 3D printer, which is ready for printing 3-dimensional objects designed and modeled in advance.
“The creation of the 3D printer by our students is now ready to be put into use for designing different models and printing 3-dimensional objects at the same time. It will be at the service of our students in the upcoming years.”
The Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science at the AAB College, professor Blerta Prevalla, claimed: “The creation of the 3D printer that is now ready to be put into use to design different models and to print 3-dimensional objects at the same time will be at the service of our students in the upcoming years. This project had started several months ago and the work included mounting and providing of all individual parts of the printer until finally it is ready to be used by all students of our College.”
“The best students of all generations have engaged and poured their hard-work into this project. They have been divided into three groups and have worked intensively on the construction of this printer.” – She added.
Professor Ermir Rogova, the project supervisor, said that it is hard to believe that such printers can be found in the region, and even if there are any, there are only a few of them.
“It is even hard to believe that such printers can be found in this region; as even if there are any – there are only a few of them!”
“There are printers that create 3-dimensional models of various plastic materials. In the region there are very few of these types of printers and I do not know whether there are any in the educational institutions in Kosovo. Our purpose was not to buy a printer and use it, but to ensure all of its parts first, and then create the model all on our own” – says prof. Rogova.
The AAB College provides fully packed and updated labs, especially hardware laboratories, which are specifically designed for the completion of such works. Now the 3D printer is another great addition to the Arduino slabs and NAO robots of the AAB College.
